September 10th, 11th, 12th, 2010

It’s that time of year again for the locals and not so locals to gather ‘round the pulling rings, main arenas and outside stages to join in that wonderful tradition called "The County Fair".
The 53th Annual Hillsborough County Agricultural Fair will be held September 10th through the 12th. The midway is open and offers games and rides for everyone. The exhibit halls are open with 4-H, Grange and open class exhibits. Don’t forget YOU can enter any of your talents in the open class exhibit hall, especially the Apple pie and King Arthur Baking Contest. Check out this year’s recipe on our website.
All weekend the 4-Hers will be bringing out the best of the best in animal sciences. Fit and Show and Obedience are among the criteria that their animals will be judged on. You’ll find the best in poultry, rabbits, pigs, goats, sheep, dairy and beef cows. And on Sunday, one of our biggest classes, dog fit and show and obedience. There is oxen and horse pulling all weekend also.
Friday Night is also highlighted by the Giant Pumpkin Weigh Off. Capping the night with our fantastic fireworks display.
Also Saturday, the cowboy mounted shooters return this year fair. Shooters from Canada, Connecticut, New York and locally will compete in this year’s top prize. ATV pulls so join in the fun and beat your neighbor pulling the sled down the track.
All weekend the Manchester Mounted Police will be roaming the grounds. Sunday rounds off the weekend with the all day truck pull that seems to draw a crowd from all over New England. Also Sunday afternoon is the lamb and pig auctions. More entertainment on stage until the fair closes at 5pm.
We will also have a display in the Langdell Arena of History of the Fair. Be sure to take a look you may see something you forgot about when you were a child and visited the fair for the first time. We will also be selling memorabilia for our 52nd anniversary such as T-shirts.
If you would like to participate in any of the classes at the fair or purchase any of our commemorative items please call (603) 641-6060 or email us at HCAFinfo@hotmail.com, or all items will be available at the fair. Oh yeah, we have fried dough, too! See you at the fair!
